An impacted tooth is one that is stuck and can’t erupt. Wisdom teeth (or third molars) are very often impacted.
There is often not enough room for these teeth to come through. They may be buried and painless most of the time, but harbour a chronic low grade infection in your mouth, which can at the least cause bad tastes or breath issues, or contribute to systemic health problems.
We would take a panoramic XRay (OPG), and advise on how best to deal with a problem – sometimes they can be left alone, sometimes you benefit from wisdom teeth extraction.
Failure to treat can in some cases cause irreparable damage to the tooth the wisdom tooth is impacted into.
We have dedicated dental team whose primary concern is your welfare and health.
