An example of ceramic veneers
Veneers are facings that are very securely bonded to teeth
They can be ceramic, that is created in a laboratory, or a composite resin that is directly placed onto the teeth. The purpose is to improve appearance and often strengthen teeth that may be discoloured, misaligned, chipped or worn.
They are a more conservative option than full ceramic crowns, that can be used where there is still a good amount of tooth structure remaining. Not everyone is a candidate for veneers – a careful assessment of teeth is needed to ensure appropriateness of this treatment option.
- Chipped, worn teeth
- Discoloured teeth that can’t be whitened in the normal fashion
- Even up irregular or poorly shaped teeth
- Close gaps
